Molly Marrin

By any metric, Molly Marrin is a proven leader, coach, recruiter, and developer of talent. With 22 years of college coaching experience, including a decade as the head women’s basketball coach at her alma mater, Regis University in Denver, Marrin has built her career around developing athletes, building successful programs, and helping players reach the next level.

During her 10 seasons leading the Rangers, Marrin compiled 169 wins and the highest winning percentage in program history. Regis averaged 17 wins per season under her leadership, won two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) championships, and made three NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.

Prior to becoming a head coach, Marrin spent 12 years at the NCAA Division I level, including serving as a Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Denver, University of San Francisco, North Dakota State University, Wright State University, and the University of Northern Colorado. An accomplished recruiter with a national network, she also built strong relationships throughout Colorado, attracting 13 Colorado All-State players to Regis.

Marrin's impact is evident in the success of the athletes she recruited and developed. During her tenure at Regis, 24 players earned All-RMAC honors, including All-American Erin Fry, who was named both RMAC Freshman of the Year and RMAC Player of the Year during her career, and Whitney Jacob, the 2020 RMAC Defensive Player of the Year. Six of Marrin's players went on to play professionally in Europe. Her influence also extends into the coaching profession, with 12 former players and assistant coaches advancing into college coaching, including four at the NCAA Division I level.

Marrin built her program around success beyond the basketball court as well. The Rangers achieved a cumulative 3.5 GPA during her tenure. In 2017-18, Regis earned the Brechler Award for the highest team GPA in the RMAC while also ranking among the top 10 nationally.

Her ability to build and grow programs extended to the Regis Team Camps. Marrin launched the camps in 2016 with just 12 teams. By 2024, participation had grown to 101 teams, making it one of the largest high school team camps in Colorado.

Marrin's accomplishments have earned recognition at both the regional and national levels. In 2023, she was named South Central Region Coach of the Year and was a WBCA finalist for National Coach of the Year. She was also recognized as WECOACH Coach of the Month and the @WHoopDirt NCAA Division II National Coach of the Week. In 2022, Marrin was inducted into the Regis University Athletics Hall of Fame alongside her 2002-03 teammates.

Following her collegiate coaching career, Marrin expanded her work in basketball into broadcasting. She currently serves as an NCAA Division I women's basketball analyst for the University of Wyoming and the Mountain West Network, bringing more than two decades of coaching, recruiting, and player-development experience to game broadcasts. Her ability to break down strategy, personnel, and in-game adjustments provides viewers with a coach's perspective on the game.

As a player, Marrin brought the same competitiveness and determination that would later define her coaching career. A four-year letterwinner at Regis, she earned First Team All-RMAC honors, was twice selected to the RMAC All-Tournament Team, and was named Regis University's Female Student-Athlete of the Year. She graduated from Regis in 2003 with a degree in Communications and earned a master's degree in Sport Administration from the University of Northern Colorado in 2004.

After more than two decades recruiting, developing, and coaching athletes at the collegiate level, Marrin founded Level Up Coaching to bring that experience directly to athletes and families. Through recruiting advising, individual and small-group player development, and clinics for clubs and high school programs, she helps athletes understand what it takes to compete at the next level and gives them the tools, knowledge, and confidence to get there.

Whether she is developing a young player, advising a family through the recruiting process, analyzing an NCAA Division I game, or mentoring the next generation of coaches, Marrin's mission remains the same: help people level up to their full potential.
